Woman President of One of the Biggest Medical Companies in the World Receives American Woman of the Year Award at the 4th Annual G.O.D. Event
Iraqi born Mary Shaya is the president of one of the largest women business enterprises in the world which is the J & B Medical, the parent company of Health Net Connect and Pietas project. When she is not manning her company, she is out conducting charity events or helping refugees and traveling for religious purposes.
"I had the honor of spending time with Mrs. Shaya in Michigan and I was blown away by the hospitality she and her family had shown me. But what really captured my heart is her sincerity to help other people. I found out that her company through her leadership regularly sends humanitarian aid to marginalized women and children in Iraq and other places where help is needed." said Princess Maria Amor, founder and president of We Care for Humanity (WCH). She continuous, "Also, the Pietas is the humanitarian project of this year's G.O.D. Awards and WCH Summit which benefits countries of Kenya and Philippines. Mary, being the owner of this initiative plays a huge role in We Care for Humanity's humanitarian efforts."
Because of Mary's contribution to humanity, it has been decided by the board of the 4th G.O.D. Awards to confer Mrs. Shaya, the American Women of the Year Awards. "We have high hopes that she will be able to help more women and children in other parts of the world.", added by Amor.
Mary Shaya will be honored at the 4th Global Officials of Dignity Awards(G.O.D. Awards) and scheduled to speak at the 3rd WCH Humanitarian Summit on August 17-19, 2016 at the Delegates Dining Room, United Nations Headquarters, New York. Both flagship events are organized by We Care for Humanity and its philanthropic partners: SREI Foundation, J & B Medical Company, HWPL and China-US Business Association.
About Mary Shaya:
Mary Shaya came from Iraq in 1966 and got married in 1969. She has four children. After her children started going to school, Mrs. Shaya participate in many leadership and professional activities including being very active for the Chaldean community and doing business development for several medical labs. In 1996, Mary started J & B Medical with her husband Fawzi. In 20 short years, J & B has become one of the largest women business enterprises in the world and remains privately held and based in Wixom, Michigan. Founded in 1996, J & B has sixteen different business enterprises and has customers in 48 states and 28 countries. This innovative company has brought many new ideas and solutions forward to the delivery care and continues to strive to improve patient access and quality and has been recognized by many for their excellence and innovation in health care including by Michigan Blue Cross/Blue Shield, State of Michigan, State of Wisconsin, State of Indiana, and by the Office of Inspector General. Mary currently spends her free time helping the Iraqi refugees, traveling the world to visit religious sites, and participating in the Ladies of Charity. She has three grandchildren Adelle, Ace, and Greyson who are the love of her life.
