Having to have owned and operated two successful business since the late 1980's, before giving them up to become a full time servant for the community. Profoundly educated as a financial professional ranging from a banking service officer all the way to a National Director of Sales and Mediation. Ms Townsend's commitment remains Unwavering, having to have owned a successful certified MAI Appraisal firm in Beverly Hills, Ca in 1994 for many yrs, of which it served a large population of ownership values, continued in the stock market industry, as a foreign currency analyst, and establishing ownership with three other prolific business persons in running one of the most successful mortgage firm. Steadfast in her community service commitments, serving as Vice President for two concurrent terms on the local school site councils, served on the Build Workforce Small Business Advisory Council, the Los Angeles United School District Small Business Council, active committee member with the Los Angeles Task Force for Community Awareness, under the direction of (Ex-Chief of Police), Chief Bernard Parks, served in 2006 as one of Founding member/Director of the California Council of Chambers in Sacramento, appointed as Chair of Program for the Board of Library Commissioners (Woodland Hills Friends of Library Committee branch). Currently serves as Board Member on the United Chambers of Commerce in San Fernando Valley, Ca, serves as founding Board Member on the Los Angeles Business Federation Association, member of VICA. (Valley Industry and Commerce Association) member on VITA. (Valley International Trade Association), Board Director for Fernando Awards, served on Los Angeles Grand Jury Community Advocacy Committee , serves as Board Director on National African American Drug Policy Council/Wash DC. Elected in 2011 as the Chairman of the California state Black Chamber’s Council of Chambers, a large group of minority chambers serving the entire southern and northern California area. In addition serving in 2011 on Mayor’s Business Economics Blue Ribbons Committee, overseeing preliminary guidelines for new Stadium downtown Los Angeles, . Recent appointment as Vice Chairperson of Advocacy/Los Angeles Business Federation, a grassroots business organization service more than 100,000 business members in Los Angeles County. Her 2012 recent appointed acknowledgement is to serve as a National Western Region “Spokeswoman”, jointly with Congresswoman emeritus, Dr Diane Watson on the Women for American Business Issues and voter registration as a Los Angeles county representative, under the appointed post of So Cal. Regional Coordinator, Ms DJ Blaker, under the directions of Lena Kennedy, Southern California Director of “Women for Obama” Campaign. With her business successes and economic rewards as a small business owner, she brought those accomplishments and more with her as she was elected in 2000, and remains currently, as President/Ceo of the Regional Black Chamber of Commerce SFV- Southern California. A Chamber which serves over 35 cities, and its boast of nearly 350 small, minority, and women owned business owners, that surely receives empowerment in education, training, social equality and financial strategies for their business. Madame M C Townsend is a widower, and has 4 adult children and (1) grandson.
