The Global Order of Dignitaries and Philanthropists (G.O.D.) Awards, now on its 7th year announces the Human Rights Legend award is being bestowed to His Honorable UDIT RAJ; crusader, prolific writer and distinguished former member of Parliament, India. He is also the National Chairman of the All India Confederation of SC/ST Organizations which encompasses large number of SC/ST government employees across the country.

“Within his philosophy of practicing humanitarianism, it is essential what Honorable Udit Raj has done for India and globally. He caters to the forgotten and untouchable to uplift aspirations and subsequently community” said Princess Maria Amor, founder of We Care for Humanity (WCH) and creator of the G.O.D.  She continues, “Writers are the quiet yet loquacious heroes who forge words of change, before the change begins. It is benefiting for Dr. Raj to receive Human Rights Legend award for his leadership and experience he has thus contributed to the philanthropic world.”

Dr. Udit Raj has been raising issues of the downtrodden and deprived people at United Nations Organizations. In 1997, he raised the issues faced by lakhs of underprivileged people and resolved many of them. He launched a campaign in 2006 for seeking reservation for backward sections in the institutions of higher education. He also launched a struggle against the criticized four-year degree course (FYUP) syllabus which was later scrapped as it would have been detrimental to the cause of education.  It was due to his efforts that the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government passed the 81st, 82nd and 85th Constitutional amendments, which in turn led to the retrieval of reservation benefits.

Dr. Raj is expected to address the audience of the United Nations, Geneva on the topic - Reduced Inequalities (SDG #10) under the theme: “Sustainable Humanitarianism Towards the United Nation’s 2030 Agenda” at the WCH Humanitarian Summit. Joining him on the dais are Honorees and Keynote Speakers: H.E. Felix Tshisekedi, President of Democratic Republic of Congo, H.E. Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister OF Bangladesh, H.E. Rupiah Banda, the 4th President of Zambia and H.E. Ivo Josipovic, 3rd President of Croatia.

The 7th G.O.D. is convened at the United Nations, Palais des Nations, Switzerland on the 11th and 12th of July 2019 and is hosted by WCH in partnership with the Permanent Mission of Vanuatu and other International Organizations in Geneva. More than 50 country representatives are expected to arrive in Geneva for this function with the help of its philanthropic partners: Triton Solar LLC, SREI Foundation, Imagine TV and a major sponsor who wish to be Anonymous.

The magnanimous event is integrated with a Charity Dinner Gala at the historic Intercontinental Hotel featuring a world class entertainment by the renowned Space Opera Diva, Evgenia Laguna.  Proceeds of the event will be used for restoration of Kam Pushum Hed Clinic in Port Vila and procurement of new Kidney Dialysis Machines.
